God Shammgod, also known as Shammgod is legendary for creating one of the dopest moves in the history of basketball called “The Shammgod Crossover.” 

On basketball courts around the world, The Shammgod Crossover is being done, not only by professional NBA players making the news doing it, but by people in neighborhood parks, students in gyms, and by kids on playgrounds around the world.

From humble beginnings, Shammgod was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Harlem where the neighborhood was surrounded by drugs, poverty, crime & violence. Defying the odds, Shammgod leveraged his career from an infamous street baller, to professional NBA player and now a player development coach for the Dallas Mavericks.  A high school favorite at La Salle Academy and college star at Providence College,

Shammgod’s career in basketball took-off when he was selected to the 1995 McDonald’s All-American Team and became College All-American.  He was signed to the Washington Wizards in 1997–98; and later played in the Chinese Basketball Association. Throughout his career Shammgod has played with and trained some of the best ball players in the league but his most cherished experience is teaching Kobe Bryant how to dribble. It turned into a 20 year friendship between them with Kobe asking Shammgod to help his daughter Gianna with her dribbling skills.  

Shammgod signed to RocNation Sports management in 2016 and became a brand ambassador for Puma. His signature sneaker with Puma, The Legacy Shammgod Basketball shoes released on June 15, 2020.  

Respected by his peers and embraced by the culture and new generation, Shammgod continues to make a positive difference in giving back to the community.  He partnered with the Share For Life Foundation, (Share 4 Life) a tax-exempt [501 (c) 3], non-profit organization that provides programs and services that address issues affecting disadvantaged communities in New York City through awareness, education, media projects, the arts, and personal and community development activities. Shammgod is helping to bring awareness to Share 4 Life initiatives and campaigns, providing donations and securing corporate sponsorships.
